For Colleges & Universities

The UW BHSS Clinical Training Program invites Washington State colleges and universities to read the Implementation Guide. This free, web-based open education resource provides guidance to colleges and universities interested in adopting the program. As a webbook, this Implementation Guide is fully functional on all modern web browsers and operating systems. We do not recommend viewing the webbook on Internet Explorer or other legacy browsers as we cannot guarantee full functionality.

In 2025, the UW BHSS Clinical Training Program will release an Educator’s Guide to support integration of the BHSS competency framework into qualified bachelor’s degree programs.

The Department of Health will release information detailing the process to become an approved BHSS education program. Visit the DOH website to view the latest rules and guidelines.

The UW BHSS project team has developed curriculum gap analysis tools to assist a program in conducting a self-study to determine areas of non-alignment with the BHSS competencies. Once a program has addressed gaps in the curriculum, the gap analysis tool may also help demonstrate full alignment with the UW BHSS clinical training program.

Please contact bhsswa@uw.edu with any questions related to the guide. The project team looks forward to connecting with you!
