This article introduces an innovative model for equipping undergraduate psychology majors with skills in brief evidence based and culturally responsive interventions. Further, the article explains how the workforce development project emerged from existing literature and international models. A case example from a university school of psychology is discussed to highlight integration of the behavioral health support specialist competencies. The article concludes with a discussion of internship experiences to equip psychology majors for a career in the behavioral health sector after graduation.
